1. Who can use Fanfiled

Fanfiled is available only to people 18 years of age or older. By creating an account you represent that you are at least 18. We may suspend accounts we reasonably believe belong to minors, pending re-verification (see Section 7).

2. Your account

You are responsible for your account and for keeping your credentials secure. You must provide accurate information at signup, including your date of birth.

3. Your content

You retain ownership of what you post. You grant Fanfiled a non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, display, and distribute your content solely to operate the service. Fan works are subject to the rights of underlying rightsholders; you are responsible for what you upload.

4. Content moderation

Uploaded media is currently restricted by file type and size before it can be posted. Automated hash-matching against known illegal material and machine classification of uploaded media are not yet active; every image post goes through a moderation queue, but without an automated content-safety scan behind it today. We remove content that violates the Acceptable Use Policy, and detected child sexual abuse material is reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) as required by law. Where we reject or remove your content, you will be told the reason category and (except where the law requires otherwise) you may appeal in-app.

5. Copyright (DMCA)

We respond to copyright takedown notices and accept counter-notices as described on our Copyright page. Repeat infringers’ accounts are terminated in appropriate circumstances.

6. Messaging and safety

Direct messages are available between mutual followers. You can block, mute, and report any user or content. Blocking prevents contact in both directions.

7. Enforcement

We may remove content, restrict features, suspend, or terminate accounts for violations of these Terms or the AUP. Account-level actions carry an in-app notice and, where applicable, an appeal path. Accounts suspended on suspicion of being under 18 may be reinstated through re-verification.

8. Subscriptions

Paid subscriptions renew automatically until canceled. Canceling is as easy as subscribing: you can cancel at any time in Settings, effective at the end of the current billing period. Price changes are notified in advance.

9. Account deletion and data export

You can request deletion of your account, or an export of your data, from Settings at any time. See the Privacy Policy for what is retained and why (for example, records we are legally required to preserve).

10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The service is provided “as is.” To the maximum extent permitted by law, Fanfiled disclaims warranties and limits its liability to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before a claim arose. [Jurisdiction, arbitration, and class-action terms to be settled with counsel.]

11. Changes

We will notify you of material changes to these Terms and record the version you accepted. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
